“But Jesus remained silent and gave no answer. Again the high priest asked him, ‘Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?’ ‘I am,’ said Jesus. ‘And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.’”
Jesus was silent to all the false accusations against Him. But to the question of the high priest, “Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?”, He answered, “I am. And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven” (62). Here, we see who Jesus our Lord is. Though He is being tried like a criminal, He is the one who will sit at the right hand of the Mighty One (Greek: Dunamis referring to God who is the origin of all authority). 'The right hand of God' doesn't mean the location, but the same power and authority. It tells that He will have all authority and power of heaven and earth (Mt 28:18). 'Coming on the cloud of heaven' tells that He is coming back in the Father's glory as the Lord of Judgment. In this Lent Season, let's see Jesus who is sinless, suffered and died for our sins and accept His great grace in our hearts. Let us see Jesus who is now at the right hand of God in glory and interceding for us. Let us also see Jesus who is coming back in the power and the glory of God.
Prayer: Thank you my Lord Jesus who suffered the cruelest death to redeem me from sins. Please deepen your grace, love and hope in you during this Lent season. Hallelujah!
