Joshua 10:12-13 (Mark Hong)

"he said in the sight of Israel, 'Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; And thou, Moon, in the valley of Aijalon.' And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed. Until the nation had avenged themselves of their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jashar? And the sun stayed in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day."
- Joshua 10:12-13 -

In our text, we see how God helped Joshua and the Israelites conquer Adoni-Zedek, the king of Jerusalem and his allies. God ‘threw them into confusion’ (10). He also ‘hurled large hailstones down’ (11). God gave Joshua an inspiration to make a surprise attack (9). He heard Joshua's prayer for Sun and Moon stop till they complete their victory (12). Verse 14 tells us about an amazing intervention of the Lord God: "And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the Lord listened to the voice of a man. We see here that our God is the living Lord, who intervenes amazingly in our lives, hearing our prayers. Thus, we should include Him in our life situations, seek His intervention through prayer and expect great miracles and victories.

Prayer: Dear Lord, we praise you the Living God and your amazing intervention, answering our prayers. Give us the spirit of prayer of Joshua and bring triumph and glory to you.
