In this way present the food offering every day for seven days as an aroma pleasing to the Lord; it is to be offered in addition to the regular burnt offering and its drink offering. On the seventh day hold a sacred assembly and do no regular work.

Numbers 28:24-25

The above verses tell the Israelites how to celebrate the Passover; it is both ‘a reminder of past salvation and a symbol of perpetual deliverance.’ it provoked thanksgiving and hope. While pointing forward to the ultimate Passover Lamb, it also had crucial implications for the present: ‘This observance will be for you like … a reminder on your forehead that this law of the Lord is to be on your lips.’ We must not only reinject holiness into our holidays but also punctuate each day with pause points where we reflect on and respond to God’s moment-by-moment presence in our lives.

Walk with the Lord and work with Him. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.

CLOSING PRAYER: Almighty God, whether I am awake or asleep, your eyes are never taken from me. Forgive me when my attention wanders. Help me, not just in the scheduled times, but in the everyday moments of life, to seek your presence and worship you.
