"After removing Saul, he made David their king. God testified concerning him: ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.’ “From this man’s descendants God has brought to Israel the Savior Jesus, as he promised."
Acts 13:22-23
Paul introduced David as he was preaching the good news to the God-fearing Gentiles in Pisidian Antioch. David was a man after God's own heart. I personally feel it is the greatest honor in the Lord for it describes one who humbly and faithfully aligns with God's will and seeks to live according to God's desires. My wife has been praying for me at least two decades. I still feel far behind from this goal of becoming 'a man after God's own heart.' But I pursue it in prayer, Bible meditation and the life of obedience. I hope and pray that both you and me to draw closer to the Lord our Father and seek and do the will of the Father in the year 2025. The apostle Paul was a great role model in the NT as a man after God's own heart as he sought the will of the Father and gave himself fully to the world evangelization. However, Jesus is the perfect example for us as He came to earth in obedience to the Father. He even gave Himself on the cross and that He fulfilled the redemptive plan of God. Hallelujah!
Closing Prayer
Holy Spirit, help me that I become a man after your own heart. I want my words and actions to show others who my Savior is. Help me, that all of what I say and do is winsome, drawing others to Jesus.
