Genesis 21:1-2 (Mark Hong)

“Now the Lord was gracious to Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did for Sarah what he had promised. Sarah became pregnant and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the very time God had promised him.”
- Genesis 21:1-2 -

We hope God's promise to be fulfilled at best within a week – or a month. Abraham and Sarah have had to wait 25 years. During these years, they had ups and downs. They even decided to give God a helping hand -- Sarah gave Hagar, her maidservant to be Abraham's concubine and had a son, Ishmael. Yet the Lord was gracious. He gave Sarah a son, Isaac, keeping His promise. God always keeps His promises; He sent us His Son Jesus as our Lord and Savior.

Thank God that He is kind and patient. He helps us to be mature in faith so that we can persevere and wait on Him to fulfill His promises.

Prayer: Dear Lord, we are so impatient. Help us to overcome our impatience through trusting You. Infuse us with Your grace and power.
