Genesis 9:13-15 (Mark Hong)

“I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth....I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life.”
- Genesis 9:13-15 -

God said that seeing the rainbow He will remember His covenant with the people not to destroy human beings again through a flood. Humankind's sins were not rooted out even through the horror of the flood judgment. God was merciful for He said, “Never again will I curse the ground because of humans, even though every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood" (8:21). This rainbow covenant was a great comfort for the next generation; they could be free from the fear of another possible flood. In the same way, when the clouds of worry and anxiety and fear arise, we can look up to Jesus, the rainbow of true comfort and peace. We then are free from all our fears and our souls can find rest.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your mercy upon us. We look up to Jesus and find true comfort and peace in Him.
