Mark 5:19-20 (Mark Hong)

“Jesus did not let him, but said, ‘Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.’ So the man went away and began to tell in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him. And all the people were amazed.”
- Mark 5:19-20 -

We see in Mark 5, Jesus' casting out the legion (6000) of demons in the region of Gerasa, a gentile territory. It shows us that we must be willing to cross our ethnic, social and religious boundaries for they need Jesus to receive salvation from sins and spiritual dark forces. The man who was healed wanted to follow Jesus. But Jesus sent him back to his people to testify what the Lord has done for him. So he became the forerunner of the gospel in the region of Decapolis for people to welcome Jesus for His visit in 7:31-8:13. When we are willing to go where Jesus wants us to go and share the gospel, we'll see the amazing work of salvation from sin, liberation from the dark forces and the furtherance of the gospel.

Prayer: Praise be to Jesus for what you have done on the cross. You have given us the same grace the Gerasene man received. So we commit our hearts to tell how much you have done for us to the people of our Decapolis. Amen.
