Ephesians 4:11-13 (Mark Hong)

“So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.”
- Ephesians 4:11-13 -

Paul shared the oneness of the saints in one God and one Christ (4:1-6). In our text today (4:7-16), we see how we serve the Lord, according to the gift the Lord gave each of us. So our unity is not in a uniform alliance, but the unity in diversity. It is organically united as the body of Christ. When we are united in Christ's love and serve, the body of Christ (church) is built up.

Our unity bears two beautiful fruits: f First, the unity in the faith and in the knowledge of Jesus. We stand firm in the gospel truth. Second, we become mature. How much? We attain to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. We become truly mature and bear beautiful fruit of the gospel in character and life. Hallelujah!

Prayer: Lord, we thank you for establishing our church, the body of Christ. May we be united in the faith and in the knowledge of Christ and to serve with our gift. May we be truly mature, till we attain the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
