Hebrews 11:6 (Mark Hong)

"And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."
- Hebrews 11:6 -

Hebrews 11 is known as 'the chapter on faith We learn the essence of faith in verses 1-3. We then see the example of those who lived by faith and pleased God such as Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph (4-22). Their faith can be summarized in two things: He exists: it means that we believe that He is eternal and personal. He is the living Lord and sovereign ruler of the world history. So we live before Him and in His will. He rewards those who earnestly seek Him: It is to believe that God saves His people. He is the one who rewards those who seek Him. He is merciful. Based on the redemption of Christ, He gives us forgiveness, eternal life and abundant life. Jesus says, "I have come that they may have life and have it abundantly" (Jn 10:10b). This is not just a theory, but a true reality as we live by faith in the Lord God.

Prayer: Lord, we want to please You. We believe you are the Living Lord and we long for an ever deepening experience. Hallelujah!
