"God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, so that what you hope for may be fully realized."
- Hebrews 6:10-11 -
In chapter 5:11-14, we see the author's rebuke of the believers for they were remaining in spiritual immaturity. He encouraged them to come out from their immaturity in 6:1-3. He then warns the danger of remaining in immaturity in our text 6:4-8. It is apostasy - falling away from salvation. He then encourages the believers to have the confidence of their salvation since they are those who have God's love and they had been putting God's love into practice (9-10). So encourages the believers to stand firm and be diligent to the end so that they can participate in the hope of God's salvation. Our text challenges us to have true faith in God and His love in Christ and put it into practice. We then do not fall away from salvation. One day, our hope in the gospel will be fully realized.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for warnings in our text. Help us to stand firm in Christ and put your love into practice in diligence.
